Safety is job one...

At first blush the Tango may look like a lightweight. But in reality the Tango is designed to be one of the safest cars on the road.

Roll Cage
We have designed the Tango around a roll cage that meets or exceeds both SCCA and NHRA regulations. These are racing organizations that specify cage design to protect the occupants of cars crashing at over 200 mph. The Sports Car Club of America requires a singe removable door bar to be held by a 3/8" pin in double sheer. The Tango has double the requirement with two additional horizontal bars. There are literally over four times more side door protection bars than found in the largest SUVs.

Rollover
Because of the batteries and sometimes additional ballast just 4" off of the ground, the Tango has achieved a NHTSA 5-star equivalent static rollover threshold rating. This is approximately 56 degrees which is approximately the same as a 911 Porsche. In fact, despite its narrow footprint, the Tango has stability that exceeds that of most sport cars.

Carbon Fiber Body
Over the outside of the chrom-moly steel race car roll cage, there are 100% carbon fiber/epoxy panels. keeping a strong and lightweight exterior as used in aerospace and Formula One race cars.

Active Safety
We believe that the ability to avoid a collision is just as important as top-of-the-line protection. The Tango has the maneuverability to quickly move out of the way in case of emergency, even fitting between other cars and between lanes - something that is clearly not possible with any other vehicle. The Tango also has an instantaneous and powerful acceleration better than almost any other car in existence, which, coupled with its narrowness, can get you out of trouble if a car or truck wanders into your lane.
